Eben Brooks and Allison Lonsdale to Co-Host "Save the Boobies " Benefit Concert
Benefit Concert at Lestat’s Coffeehouse will raise money for the Breast Cancer 3-day Walk.
SAN DIEGO, CA 10/15/2007 -- Singer/Songwriters Eben Brooks and Allison Lonsdale will be performing in concert at Lestat’s Coffeehouse on October 20th, 2007, at 6pm, with all proceeds from the concert to benefit the San Diego Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-day walk.
Eben Brooks has dedicated himself to actively working towards finding the cure for breast cancer by donating proceeds from his shows, supporting awareness, and walking 60 miles in the Breast Cancer 3-day walk once before in 2002. This year, he is participating in the walk again. Eben was personally affected when he lost his mother in 2001 after her long battle with breast cancer. The benefit concert at Lestat’s Coffeehouse is part of his continuing efforts and hopes that the cure will be found and that no one else will have to suffer or lose a loved one to this devastating disease.
Eben Brooks, who has performed in and around San Diego since 1992, is both a musician and activist who has made it his mission to help save the world--one person at a time, and one song at a time. To help raise awareness of the issue of breast cancer, he has written a song, "Black Train", which appears on his second CD, Mirrors.
Allison Lonsdale, a gifted songwriter and long-time friend of Eben's, plays monthly shows at Lestat's, but has graciously allowed this month's show to benefit the Breast Cancer 3-Day. In the past, shows of hers have benefited the Doctors Without Borders (for Indonesian tsunami victims) and Americares Domestic Relief (for Hurricane Katrina/Rita relief efforts).
