About the Eben Brooks Band
Except that this is not our biography. It’s our mission statement. And our mission is very simply stated: To save the world. Seems a pretty big task for one band, doesn’t it? Why would we attempt to take on such a thing? The answer is: because if we don’t . . . who will? We all know that the world is a miserable place. Crime, poverty, hate, war, sickness, bigotry, the haves lording it over the have-nots, unrestrained greed, indifference to suffering. To put it succinctly, the world is sick. But it is our pledge to heal it. One person at a time, one thing at a time, over our lifetime—and to teach others to carry on the healing after we're gone. This is not hyperbole. This is not martyrdom. This is not pie-in-the-sky. This is necessary. Can we do it by ourselves? No. The world needs all the help it can get. But that’s why we make music: to educate, to illuminate, to pull back the illusions. To get others to see what’s happening. So our message to everyone is this: You know what’s wrong! Do something about it! The Eben Brooks Band is:Eben Brooks plays acoustic rhythm guitar and sings a lot. Don Parrish-Bell plays electric lead guitar and sings a little less than Eben does, but not much less. Randy Parrish-Bell plays violin and sings a little less that Don does. Wolf Klauschie plays a little bass and doesn't sing at all.
